Giving Back

Actively Committed

At First Bank and Trust we are proud of and take very seriously our commitment to our community. We have always encouraged our staff to be active members of our community. Their involvement in various organizations and boards throughout Minden and the surrounding areas is a testament to this. Our staff regularly reaches out to the area schools to teach financial literacy skills to our children. We believe that the support and involvement in the community is an essential investment for its continued growth and prosperity.

Investing in our Community

As a community business, we annually purchase tickets to Husker Harvest Days for our agricultural customers who are interested in attending. We donate and serve bottled water and provide peanuts at the Kearney County Fair; and during harvest, serve lunches at five local grain elevators. We sponsor and provide the manpower for the Kiddie Tractor Pull at the County Fair and sponsor a children’s movie at the Minden Opera House during the Christmas Traditions Celebration. We also help to sponsor local commodity marketing seminars as well as the Chick-fi l-A Leadercast held at the Minden Opera House. We believe that the support and involvement in the community is an essential investment for its continued growth and prosperity.

Year End Giving

Annually, we make donations to the libraries, fire departments, youth development programs, senior living centers and youth sports programs in Minden, Axtell, Hildreth, and Wilcox. In addition, the bank has made donations totaling over $7,500 to the Kearney County Medical Foundation, Kearney County Community Foundation, and Pioneer Village Foundation. All of these organizations provide valuable services to all members of their communities and we are proud to be able to contribute to their success.

Youth Development

Since 2008, the Bank has sponsored Minden's American Legion Seniors baseball team for $5,000 a year.  In 2011, we donated $28,500 for new scoreboards at Minden Public Schools. In 2014, the bank gave a donation of $20,000 to the Wilcox-Hildreth Agriculture Education and FFA building project. They constructed a new Agriculture Education Facility for the Wilcox-Hildreth public school. We believe that the support and involvement in the youth of our community is an essential investment for its continued growth and prosperity.
