Nichole Borgelt Joins First Bank

First Bank & Trust Company of Minden welcomed Personal Banker Nichole Borgelt to the staff on May 22. Born in Wisner, Nebraska and raised in Ashland, Kansas, Borgelt is enthusiastic about her new position and community.

“I am from a small town in southwest Kansas. I enjoyed growing up in a small town community, therefore I wanted my job after college to be in a small town. When the job opportunity with First Bank & Trust Company arrived, it suited my best interests very well and now here I am!” Borgelt enthused.

Throughout high school and college, Borgelt held a variety of jobs. Her experiences ranged from working at a long term care facility as a CNA to working in a grocery store, an insurance company, and with local farmers. Serving as a teller in a bank during one summer cemented to her aspirations of becoming a banker.

“Ever since I went to college, I knew I wanted my future career to be in banking. Coming from an agricultural background and a small town, the banking industry was very important to the community. Getting a little experience working for a bank during the summer while I was in college also made me realize that banking is what I wanted to do,” Borgelt said.

She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Hutchinson Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agribusiness with a Business Minor from Kansas State University. Although she has only been at First Bank & Trust a short time, she appreciates the opportunities afforded by her position.

“Being in the banking industry gives me many opportunities to assist local customers and build strong relationships within the community,” Borgelt explained. “These past two weeks in which I have been working at First Bank & Trust, I have enjoyed getting to learn more about the bank’s operations and meeting people in the community.”

As a new citizen of Minden, Borgelt hasn’t joined any local organizations yet but she looks forward to getting involved in the near future. She has a particular interest in 4-H, livestock, sports, and the outdoors.

“Growing up, I was involved in 4-H showing cattle. I would be interested helping with the county fair and other livestock projects within the community. I also grew up playing sports and would be interested in getting involved coaching or assisting young kids in those activities within the community too. I’m willing to learn more about each association in the community and get involved,” Borgelt assured.

When she isn’t in the bank, Borgelt can often be found at the lake, fishing, playing sports, or just enjoying the outdoors. She hopes to put her interests, knowledge, and experience to work to assist the community and her customers while she settles into her new career and home.

“I hope to help First Bank achieve their long-term goals and become an active member in the community,” Borgelt said. “I hope to help their customers with everyday transactions as needed and manage their finances in the best interest for them and the bank.”

Stop in First Bank & Trust to welcome Borgelt to the community and let her help you with your financial needs.
